Thank you so much for choosing us to take your photos!
It’s an honor for us to be part of documenting this special occasion for you. So what happens next? After the session we immediately upload and back up your images to multiple drives, including cloud storage for safe keeping. You enter into our workqueue which we process chronologically. We likely told you our current expected delivery date based off of our estimation on how long each project will take to edit. This is always our best guess based on variety of scenes, lighting, and sometimes tricky color grading needs of each particular session. Sometimes things take longer than expected and that can delay that and each subsequent project. We also have unexpected new bookings that come up from time to time when then take away some of our planned editing time, as well as day to day client management like scheduling, logistics, and communication. One final factor is we can only do so much editing at a time before our eyeballs scream for mercy! Nate literally developed a small blister on his retina this last wedding season from a combination of eye strain and screen time. Don’t worry, it was just a temporary issue with no permanent effects, but a lesson in finding our limits and practicing self care too. Please trust that we are doing our very best to delivery your photos as quickly as possible while also giving each and every image in our queue the editing time it deserves! We thank you so much for your patience!
If you’re curious about our editing process, read on!
After each session, we cull your photos down to find the best shot from each moment, while also including some, but not an overwhelming amount of variety. We then go through and edit each selected image one at a time ensuring proper exposure, white balance, contrast, color and cropping. Our style of editing we consider natural with a slight film-esque look, and just a touch on the warm side. Having accurate skin tones is one of our top priorities. The average wedding takes about 16-24 hours of editing. After we feel they are finished, we always take one more editing pass on fresh eyes the next day before exporting the images to jpeg files and uploading them to your online gallery. Once they’re up, we’ll immediately email you with a link to your gallery and a button to download images to your computer. If you’ve ordered delivery on a usb drive, we tend to send these out in batches to avoid too many trips to the post office. With your download option, you’ll still have your images immediately available for printing, posting, and re-living.
